It does provide a wealth of basic information as an introduction to biochemistry. It is highly illustrative, with various diagrams on each page to illustrate the structures and biochemical pathways.
The writing style is very lecture-like, but that works well for me when reviewing the material. What doesn't work so well is the wealth of typos. In a day's study, I have identified no fewer than three typos in 25 pages. I'm sure the rest of the information is correct, but the typos are seriously distracting.
